Yangon (formerly Rangoon), the country’s largest city, is home to bustling markets, numerous parks and lakes, and the towering, gilded Shwedagon Pagoda, which contains Buddhist relics and dates to the 6th century. It has an area of 676,552 square km (261,218 square miles) and have a tropical monsoon climate. It is a land of hills and valleys and is rimmed in the north, east and west by mountain ranges forming a giant horseshoe. Burmese is the official language of Myanmar and also the mother tongue language.
Myanmar is renowned as a captivating destination filled with rich heritage and culture that is unique yet not overwhelmed with the global trends of modernity. Myanmar serves as a home for many tourist destination sites such as the ancient city Bagan, the 19th-century Mandalay Royal Palace, Inle Lake of leg-rowing fishermen, Ngapali Beach Resort, Kyaikhteeyo Rock Mountain Pagoda and etc. Visitors will be pleasantly surprised to explore many places of interest keeping them busy during their stay. We welcome you to the Land of glittering Pagodas. On our arrival, our friendly guide and driver will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Our journey starts to the Jetty by the Yangon River and proceed to Botahtaung pagoda, one of significant temple-type pagodas in Yangon which houses a sacred hair relic of the Buddha. We will proceed to enjoy the Art Gallery at Strand Hotel and take a stroll through the streets to downtown and view the stately colonial buildings reminiscent of the British era. We are going to proceed to Sule Pagoda, city hall, high court and independence monument in Mahabandoola Park for photo stop. Then enjoy your shopping at Bogyoke Aung San Market and transfer to Myanmar Food Restaurant. We will continue our visit to Chauk Htet Kyi Reclining Buddha and go to walk around Kandawgyi Park and take pictures of Karaweik Hall and Shwedagon Pagoda scenic view from afar and visit the Grand Shwedagon Pagoda in the evening for the most picturesque experience and transfer back to the hotel.
After breakfast at hotel, you will be greeted by our driver to transfer you to airport to fly to Bagan. On arrival, your journey begins with a visit to local colorful market where villagers gather every day to buy and sell their product and other goods. Then, continue our journey with a visit to the golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda for an introduction to Bagan’s rich history, we will visit nearby Wetkyi-In Gubyaukgyi Temple with exquisite Jataka mural paintings, the elegant Htilominlo temple, noted for its fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations. Then enjoy lunch at the restaurant and transfer to our hotel to reload. This afternoon begin with a visit to Ananda temple, an architectural masterpiece which is one of the Bagan’s most beautiful temples built in the early Mon- Myanmar style, Ananda contains two unique Buddha images and its expressions seem to change depending on the distance from which the statue is viewed. From here, travel by horse carts; one of the things to do in Bagan, to Thatbyinnyu the highest temple in Bagan, massive Dhammayangyi Temple, noted for its remarkable brickwork. Enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the plains from the upper terrace of one of the pagodas. And back to your hotel.
Today we will visit the rural village of Minnanthu, one of the places where you can see cotton weaving and harvesting the crops in their field. We will use this place as a starting point to explore Bagan famous temples such as Laymyathnar Monastery Complex, Phayathonsu, Nandamannya with detest mural painting from 13th century. Then, have lunch at one of local restaurants and back to hotel for a break of a few hours to hide away from the midday scorching weather. Later this afternoon begin with a visit to Myinkabar village where you can observe a traditional lacquer ware workshop about the production of one of Burma’s best-known handicraft. Our journey continue to Manuha temple with huge Buddha images, Nanpaya built with the sandstone, Gubyauk Gyi temple (Myinkaba) where you can see very colorful mural painting of Bagan period. Then, in the evening, to catch sunset, make your journey to jetty for a slow cruise down the Irrawaddy River by boat. As we cruise down, we will observe the lifestyle of fishermen and riverside villagers as well as enjoying the unique perspective of Bagan’s temples. And return to your hotel and overnight.
After breakfast at hotel, we will be greeted by our driver to transfer airport to fly to Mandalay. On arrival, welcome by our guide at Mandalay and your journey in Mandalay starts. Today we’re going to learn more about Buddhism and practices in Myanmar, start sightseeing by visiting Mahargandar Yon Monastery – where one may observe the daily life of monks and novices studying Buddha’s scriptures. Proceed to Ava (Innwa). Innwa tour highlights include the 27-meter-high Masonry Watch Tower, Nan Myint (or) the ”Leaning Tower of Innwa”, Bagaya Monastery built with 276 teak pillars ¬. After lunch, visit Sagaing Hill. We will visit Kaung Mu Daw Pagoda which is the highlight of Sagaing. Next, visit U-min Thone Se Caves (30 Caves) contains many sitting Buddha images. Drive to Amarapura to enjoy Sunset at U Bein Bridge, made of teak logs and planks over 200 years ago by then Mayor U Bein. Back to Mandalay and transfer to hotel. Relax and overnight.
Today, drive to Mandalay jetty and boat trip to Mingun (Just 12 KM on the west bank upstream from Mandalay).Upon arrival, visit to PondawPaya (A five meter high working model for gigantic structure), SettawyaPaya (the valued shrine with a footprint of the Buddha), Mingun Pahtotawgyi (one of the world largest chides built by King BodawPaya), Mingun Bell (the world renowned bell, 90tons weight), and Hsinbyume Paya (a representation of the Sulamani Paya which stands atop Mt.Meru). Return to Mandalay. And visit Maha Muni Pagoda famous for its life like Buddha image and bring you to local Myanmar food restaurant for lunch. After lunch, start your exploration from the North East corner of Mandalay Palace. Visit the Shwenandaw Kyaung, the Golden Teak Monastery which was constructed entirely of golden teak. This impressive wooden monastery was once part of the Mandalay Palace. Continue by trishaw to Atumashi Kyaung monastery and on to Kuthodaw Paya, more commonly known as the world’s biggest book. The slabs of marble are inscribed with the entire Tripitkata; Buddhist scriptures. We will go up to the top of Mandalay hill where you can enjoy the bird-eye view of Mandalay and fascinating sunset and transfer back to Hotel.
After breakfast at hotel, leave Mandalay for Heho by domestic flight. On arrival proceed to Inle Lake by car (about a 1-hr drive), on the way enjoy beautiful Shan mountain range and farms of locals and their daily routines. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for check in. Today, we will start Inle Lake sightseeing to HeyaYwama Village, Phaung Daw Oo Phaya (the heart of Inle Lake) and local small cottage like Silver Smith, and Long-necked women. Then, we will also visit Nga Phe Chaung wooden monastery which is built on stilts. After that, we will visit Inn Paw Khone Village and Khit Sunn Yin Lotus weaving center Silk to learn traditional weaving way.. In the evening, we will take back to the middle of the late to catch sunset with the setting of fisherman fishing in local way which would be a fantastic and unforgettable experience. After all, transfer you to your hotel and overnight there.
After breakfast at your hotel, we will lead to five day market (if available) and explore the local hill tribes there. Then lead to, in the south of the lake, the ruins of Indein which are certainly worth a visit. Partly covered by vegetation, the area looks like a pagoda forest. Visit the ancient Shwe Indein Pagoda. After that, we will visit the floating gardens and floating islands to learn about the local gardening system. After that, transfer back to hotel and collect our baggage. And our driver will transfer you to Heho airport and fly to Yangon. On arrival at Yangon, transfer to international departure on our own and wait for our midnight departure flight.
